Amir Kaplan is a visiting graduate student from the research group of Professor Armand Bettelheim of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. In Israel, he has acquired considerable expertise in the design and construction of catalytic materials for oxidation of water to oxygen and hydrogen ions. In the Center for Bio-Inspired Solar Fuel Production at ASU, Amir was involved in a collaborative project on application of the photoelectrochemical components developed in Israeli group for development of photoanodes for water oxidation catalysts in the bio-inspired solar fuel cell that is being built in the Center.
